Just dropped this dapper kiddo off for prom!

She got a lot of compliments on the outfit! The theme of her prom was "Masquerade" but she was disappointed that nearly all of her classmates just wore regular prom outfits.

 

We celebrated the vernal equinox today! Unfortunately, the world does not believe it is spring yet; it was 24 degrees when I woke up and I think the high was only around 35.

 

 

We had martabak manis for brunch (Ari likes hers with marshmallows on top). And then we made turkey dumplings for dinner. 

 

Happy Pi Day! We had ham and cheese quiche, spinach and artichoke quiche, calamansi pie (like key lime, but...) and Micha made a lentil pie as well. 

 

I made a challah for Purim! I wanted to do something slightly silly, so I made this sort of crown/turban shape and dyed the dough yellow and orange.

 

 

And also hamentaschen. ❤️ 

  

 We made a version of chouta, from the Storm light archive books! This is fried flatbread, filled with deep fried meatballs made from beyond meat and rice, topped with a dark mushroom gravy. Chouta meatballs are meant to be made from flangria, or soulcast meat, so we felt like beyond was a reasonable substitute. And we put in rice in change for the lavis grain.

 

It was a nice day, so we went out to the zoo again!

 

 

 

I made a special Valentine's Day brinner. Just for me and the kiddos, though- Micha wanted nothing to do with this nonsense.
